On Sunday's #Mediabuzz 11 ET:
Mollie Hemingway said the argument some journalists are making that they did not know about Joe Biden’s mental decline “does not pass the smell test,” adding that the media “weren’t duped. They were covering up and co-conspiring in a lie against the American people.” She also said that criticism of Trump accepting a plane from Qatar is “partly a result of not the best reporting,” and “people are looking for a problem, in part because it was such a successful trip to the Middle East.”
Meghan Hays said that the new book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson of Axios about Joe Biden’s mental decline and its cover-up has “no new information,” going on to say of the former president’s deterioration, “Everyone saw with their own eyes. The press covered him.” She also said that opposition to Trump’s Qatar plane gift, including from his own allies, stems from how “the appearance of being bribed is so overwhelming with this.”
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said that Former FBI Director James Comey’s now-deleted post of seashells arranged to form the numbers “86 47” is “just the latest example … from him, in terms of trying to incite … violence from the Left,” as 86 can mean ‘get rid of,’ and 47 represents the 47th president. He also likened the Qatari jet gift to the Statue of Liberty from France and said that the current president has “figured out how to work through, around, and over the media” by talking directly to the American people every single day, in contrast to former President Biden, whose team “knew exactly how bad Joe Biden’s mental decline was” and are now “gaslighting the American people” by coming out and saying Joe Biden shouldn’t have run for a second term.
James Carville said that Kamala Harris “didn’t move far enough left” in the last election, adding that “15%” of the Democratic party is left, but “they get 80% of the attention.” He also said that the message in the Democratic party next year “is simply going to be basta, enough,” and that the new book by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson exploring Joe Biden’s mental decline before the 2024 election is like saying “water is wet.”
Trey Yingst said that Donald Trump, who has announced plans to talk with Putin over the phone, must decide “how many promises” he will “allow the Russian leader to make and not keep,” adding that “Vladimir Putin has no interest in peace at this moment.” He also said, “Last week was a massive missed opportunity for Russia and Ukraine” with Zelenskyy traveling to Turkey while Putin, who originally agreed to attending peace talks, did not show up.
